Meet Billy
Billy Whipple is an accomplished professional who has worked in the nonprofit sector for over a decade. He has a Master of Science degree in Leadership from the University of New Hampshire and is also a Certified Graduate Master Builder (GMB) through the National Association of Home Builders. Billy’s career began as a carpenter in New Hampshire and progressed through various roles, ultimately leading him to his current position as the Chief Impact Officer of Austin Habitat for Humanity.
Billy’s passion for Habitat’s mission began when he served as an AmeriCorps member for Austin Habitat for Humanity. He later broadened his impact with Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury in Tennessee, where he worked in community engagement and the Director of Construction, before returning to Austin, Texas in 2016.
As Chief Impact Officer, Billy oversees all direct service planning and implementation at Austin Habitat. He supervises Real Estate, Design, New Construction, Home Repair, Client Services, and HomeBase. Under his leadership, Austin Habitat has been able to construct 60 homes annually and provide critical repairs and accessibility modifications for an additional 30 homes each year.
